APL Logistics is against wasting natural resources and we make every effort to conserve them. We place a high value on encouraging our staff to operate in an environmentally responsible manner, and we develop programs to help customers be more sustainable through our initiatives.

Optimizing shipment routes and the overall logistics network to reduce our customers' carbon footprint
Modal conversion opportunities to utilize greener transport modes such as sea compared to air, and rail to road
Partnering with underlying carriers that have environmentally friendly fleet operations
Developing analytical tools such as carbon calculators and dashboards that help customers quantify the benefits of sustainability efforts
Reducing energy consumption and general waste throughout our operations

APL Logistics is committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). We have well-defined corporate-wide programs for responsible citizenship, based on sustainability, philanthropy and volunteerism. The company concentrates its community relations efforts on these distinct areas of activity:

At APL Logistics, responsible environmental management is a cornerstone of our worldwide operations. We are committed to protecting the environment in all our activities.
The EPA SmartWay® Program is a key part of the APL Logistics overall greenhouse emission reduction plan. We promote the SmartWay Transport Partnership to our partner carriers and to our customers to speed the availability, adoption and market penetration of advanced fuel efficient technologies and operational practices in the supply chain, while helping companies save fuel, lower costs and minimize the negative environmental impact.
As a SmartWay partner since 2006, APL Logistics supports fuel efficient technologies and strategies such as intermodal shipping, idle reduction policies, optimization of loads, and decreasing driver wait times, all to reduce the environmental impacts of moving America’s freight. The Global Code of Conduct is an integral part of APL Logistics' corporate culture and serves as the guiding principles in which we operate.
Vendor Code of Conduct
APL Logistics believes in responsible corporate citizenship and sets out to do business with partners who share similar values. Our Vendor Code of Conduct articulates legal, ethical and moral standards expected of its vendors and business partners. It is a set of principles and a minimum standard of conduct for vendors to conduct their business activities in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations of their respective countries and operating locations.
