Mr. Aries Poon
Director, Head of Asia-Pacific Insights and Analysis, S&P Global Market Intelligence
Aries oversees a team of economists and country-risk experts to provide comprehensive economic forecasts, country-risk scores, and geopolitical analyses on 48 economies across Asia-Pacific. He has published widely on a range of topics, from China’s banking system and energy sector to Asia-Pacific’s semiconductor industry and the global green bond market. Aries previously worked as the editorial lead, also at S&P Global Market Intelligence, overseeing the coverage of banking, insurance, financial services and real estate in the Asia-Pacific. Before joining S&P Global in 2018, Aries had worked for the Wall Street Journal as the chief of its Hong Kong and Taipei newsrooms. He was also a finance editor at Caixin Global in Beijing. A Hong Kong native, Aries has a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford. He is also a lecturer for the Global Studies undergraduate program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Mr. Gene Seroka
Executive Director, Port of Los Angeles
Mr. Seroka is widely recognized for his expertise in the supply trends in North America and its global implications. His insights into port trends and conditions, logistics, and global trade will undoubtedly provide valuable perspectives. He is the Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles, the busiest container port in North America. Since his appointment in 2014, he has achieved record-breaking performances for the port. As a global trade expert, he advocates for trade agreements benefiting American exporters. Under his leadership, the port has set numerous cargo records and achieved significant milestones. Seroka has received multiple awards and recognition for his leadership in the maritime industry. He played a crucial role in maintaining cargo flow during the COVID-19 pandemic. Seroka manages a substantial budget, oversees major projects, and promotes sustainable practices. He has also served on federal committees to improve cargo movement and supply chain optimization. Seroka was President, American President Lines (APL) Limited, Americas before his appointment on his current role. and he holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.

Mr. Jason W. Steele
Assistant Vice President – Premium, Union Pacific Railroad
Jason Steele was named Assistant Vice President – Premium in September 2017. In this position he is responsible for leading all aspects of Union Pacific’s automotive business. Prior to this role, he was Assistant Vice President – Chemicals where he led Union Pacific’s Industrial Chemicals and Plastics business. Jason started his Union Pacific career 24 years ago at Union Pacific Distribution Services (UPDS) in the Intermodal operations team. After almost four years at UPDS, he transitioned to Union Pacific Railroad where he has held marketing or field sales positions in each of Union Pacific’s business teams. Jason, his wife Beth, and their six children reside in Omaha, NE.

Mr. Jens Larsen
Global Head Order Management Product Development, APL Logistics
Mr. Larsen has worked in global supply chain management for more than 25 years, Jens possesses in-depth experience in designing, developing and running global supply chain logistics programs, gained through collaboration with industry-leading companies across the world. Within APL Logistics, Jens is heading our global Order Management suite of products and services.
