Customer Advisory: CBSA Canada Customs eManifest HBL – Monetary Penalties Begins Jan. 31, 2022

January 26, 2022
The Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) has announced the beginning of monetary penalties on cargo arriving on or after January 31, 2022. This applies to non-compliant Canada inbound HBL’s with freight forwarder requirements as per the Reporting of Imported Goods Regulations.
For more information please refer to Customs Notice 21-15: Mandatory House Bills – End of the Zero-Rated Penalty Period.
APL Logistics’ origin and destination operations/management, regional Service Quality, and North America compliance teams have successfully executed eManifest/eHBL filings in compliance with CBSA’s requirements throughout most of 2021. The implementation has been seamless for our customers.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact your APL Logistics Account Manager or local APL Logistics office.
