SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA – APL Logistics is moving forward on commitments made in June 2020 to enhance internal diversity and to contribute to the larger community it serves.

These moves highlight the company’s ongoing commitment to human rights and social justice. First, to help ensure the civil rights legacy continues for another generation, APL Logistics has donated $50,000 to the NAACP to demonstrate that we stand with them “united to awaken the consciousness of a people and a nation.”

Bill Villalon, President of APL Logistics commented, “Mr. Floyd’s death, and others like his, serve as a tragic reminder that neither silence nor inaction are options. However, as a Company there are things that we have done and that we will continue to do to contribute to the larger communities we serve. Now is the time to act, and we are committed to action long-term, globally and as a company.”

Further, APL Logistics has begun the search to fill an executive position with responsibilities that include preserving, and elevating diversity and inclusivity in our organization. We are excited to drive these changes in our company, and look to have the person in place by Q1 2021.

These efforts translate into real and definable metrics tracked in our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, with results to be published quarterly starting in 2020.
